Although this years NAMM show can’t take place in Los Angeles due to the COVID pandemic, there are a few new interesting electric guitar models on the market.
Especially Ibanez released a couple of great guitars, which I want to show you in the next posts.
One of the hottest news are the AZS series for sure! So, let me introduce them.
One of the hottest news are the AZS series for sure!
The AZS series are the newest member of the succesful AZ line. Ibanez made here an excellent job in the last few years. Yes, and I must be honest, I also have 2 guitars from the AZ series, the AZ2402 and AZ2204. I really love them!
So it isn’t really a suprise that Ibanez following the line to build more models in the AZ series. AZS in my opinion is exactly how a Telly (Telecaster) should look like in 2021!
It belongs to the Prestige line, where the guitars made in Japan and only excellent materials are included, such as
- the S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple neck with the
S-TECH WOOD Roasted Maple fretboard - Jumbo stainless frets
- Ash or Alder Body, with
- Flamed or Quilted Maple Top
- Fixed Bridge Gotoh® F1803 bridge or optional also a Tremolo Bridge
Gotoh® T1802 tremolo bridge, which is pretty unique for a Telly.
The AZS is packed with
- Seymour Duncan® Alnico II Pro™ Custom (S) bridge pickup (Passive/Alnico)
- Seymour Duncan® Magic Touch-mini™ (H) neck pickup (Passive/Alnico)
Right now there are 4 models available.
The AZS2209H comes along with classic vintage style, fixed bridge and Ash body.
